Evolution of The Mind
Arthur Koestler quotes
Life to me is not an aimless point of evolution for humanity. Ever since I was a little boy I wanted to be an astronomer. Look into the sky, try to understand the unknown. I have always been curious about my existence. Why am I/we here? Theories would come and go. My struggle with religion would come and go. Is there a God? Is the bible legit? There is alot of basic questions you need to answer before you can consciously pick a path in life. At the age of (sike!) I am beginning to choose my path, and the path I lead is then transformed into the path that my seed will begin on. If you agree with that statement, you must agree that the path one generation of people lead is thus transformed into the path the next generation starts on. As it has been for some time now, the next generation has to right the wrongs of the previous generation. Almost like a cosmic spell checker... but its a life checker.
I like the quote above alot because it subtly shows life's purpose...to me at least. The brains ability and what we actually know that we can do leaves room for an excessive amount of potential. Potential to do unfathomable things (I believe). Both good and bad. The only thing is that the bad unfathomable will only allow us to live but so long. It will only allow us to grasp the negative potential so far before we destroy our beings, our natural way of life, and drift so far from love that hell might as well be its name. On the flip side, the positive unfathomable is endless. Imagination is endless. Love is endless.
Revolutions most always start in the mind. Revolutions seem quite necessary in a detailed aspect in the story of the human being. I believe that the next evolution will be of the mind? Dictionary.com defines the Mind as:
1. (in a human or other conscious being) the element, part, substance, or process that reasons, thinks, feels, wills, perceives, judges, etc.: the processes of the human mind.
2. Psychology . the totality of conscious and unconscious mental processes and activities.
3. intellect or understanding, as distinguished from the faculties of feeling and willing; intelligence.
If a one year old is playing with her toy and has no clue that the square block goes in the square hole, the learning aspect of this toy only exist as potential. Until one day she accidentally puts the ball through the circle opening. It wasn't purposefully done but in realizing the ball went through the circle hole an understanding she was not use to has now started a revolution in her mind about this toy, it changed the way she perceives this toy. Now in order for her to master this toy an evolution of her mind must occur, creating a thought process that was not known to her before. Now after mastering her toy, the road to looking at life's experience as practical and logical has begun for little bonquiqui (sorry I had to). As I said before revolutions seem necessary in the detailed aspect in the story the Human Being; but let's pull back and take a more holistic view of this story. Revolutions are like first few attempts at starting a lawn mower, where the actual starting of the mower is evolution. once the evolution of the mind starts, once we begin to understand logical perceptions that we had no understandings of before, will we begin to understand our brains and reduce its potential. If you believe in evolution, if you believe in continual progression, the reduction of potential is necessary. Thus making revolutions humanities way of subconsciously understanding the potential of the mind, and its attempts at evolution.

Inspir(e n)ation of W.E.B. Du Bois
W.E.B Du Bois
Double-consciousness, the affects of an afflicted being. An affliction caused by the pressures of a societal construct originating from the hatred of the beings original consciousness. A state of internal dissonance with ones being. In my opinion the Dual-Consciousness of African-Americans shall only last as long as it takes for an individual to conform to the American social, and political constructs spawned from an Anglo-Colonial Paradigm. For American-Africans the Dual-Consciousness shall last as long as the search for a history, culture, and truth is sought in a society influenced by an Anglo-Colonial Paradigm. Some people forget, or never knew the real indignations the people of Africa really endured. Misinterpreting behavioral patterns as cultural or nationality traits. Dismissing the situational factors which reveal immoral justification of national pride and elitism. Creating a domino effect coupled with the misinterpretations, misunderstandings, and misguided compassion from European Colonialist to American Capitalist . Creating a downward spiral, in which a hole was dug and which will continue to be deepened as long as the descendants of Africa strive to be African Americans instead of American Africans. We must master this Dual-Consciousness to elevate our beings; to not only know where we are now, but also to know where we came from, and who we truly are. To master both consciousness would be to access evolution, freedom, and understanding.

Dream Variations- Langston Hughes
Dream Variations by Langston Hughes
To fling my arms wide
In some place of the sun,
To whirl and to dance
Till the white day is done.
Then rest at cool evening
Beneath a tall tree
While night comes on gently,
Dark like me-
That is my dream!
To fling my arms wide
In the face of the sun,
Dance! Whirl! Whirl!
Till the quick day is done.
Rest at pale evening...
A tall, slim tree...
Night coming tenderly
Black like me.
To Be In Love - Gwendolyn Brooks
To Be In Love by Gwendolyn Brooks
To be in love
Is to touch with a lighter hand.
In yourself you stretch, you are well.
You look at things
Through his eyes.
A cardinal is red.
A sky is blue.
Suddenly you know he knows too.
He is not there but
You know you are tasting together
The winter, or a light spring weather.
His hand to take your hand is overmuch.
Too much to bear.
You cannot look in his eyes
Because your pulse must not say
What must not be said.
When he
Shuts a door-
Is not there_
Your arms are water.
And you are free
With a ghastly freedom.
You are the beautiful half
Of a golden hurt.
You remember and covet his mouth
To touch, to whisper on.
Oh when to declare
Is certain Death!
Oh when to apprize
Is to mesmerize,
To see fall down, the Column of Gold,
Into the commonest ash.
